We Thirst: Lessons in Mercy© (Psychology)

  • St. Eugene Church 200 South Oak Avenue Primos, PA 19018 USA (map)

CHRISTIAN REFLECTIONS ON ADDICTION

Week two’s focus is on some of the psychological theories that perhaps best explain the use of substances.  Although the full benefit is achieved if you attend all four evenings, each evening is an independent presentation.  Please join us even if you cannot attend all four evenings.

During this session, we will journey through our human growth and development to consider our core wounds and the layers and layers of traits that we wear for protection which ultimately cause more harm than good.  We will see that the common denominator in all our misguided attempts (whether using substances or not) is the desire to avoid more pain.  The second half of the evening will include what is necessary to make the journey back to our true selves buried deep within.  This week’s virtue:  EMPATHY.

This is the second part of a four-part series that is designed to educate and spread awareness, but unlike other programs this uniquely Christian program offers HOPE and SUPPORT, ENCOURAGES COMMUNITY, and FOSTERS MERCY, FAITH, AND LOVE.

To register, please call either 610-626-2866 (St. Eugene) or 610-237-4065 with number attending, or email: dwatto@mercyhealth.org or steugenenurse@rcn.com.
