In his apostolic exhortation The Joy of the Gospel, Pope Francis invites parishes "to be bold and creative in our . . . methods of evangelization." He reminds us: "What counts above all is 'faith working through love' (Gal 5:6)." The pope calls us to "draw near to . . . the addicted . . . any many others" (210).
Designed as a sequel to the WE THIRST series, this educational and contemplative evening will suggest and encourage specific community action plans. We will recall our Christian identity as "a people" afire with the Spirit of love, with a mission to serve the least of our brothers. We will consider tangible ways to put that Spirit and mission into action in the midst of the addiction epidemic.
